On Friday (I have Wednesday's and Friday's off this school year, so Friday's are the official start of the weekend!!), Carter and I went to the park in the morning, ran a few small errands, came home for lunch, and then met Cary at Dr. Hansen's office for our 30-week OB appointment. After naptime, Cary came home and we drove to Guthrie to see my parents. We had dinner at Prime Time, visited my grandparents, and then came back to Mom and Dad's to let Carter play with the infamous "black train." Yes...he's still obsessed. By 11:00, we were finally all in bed.
Saturday morning, my CRAZY husband met a family friend at Lake Panorama at 7:45 in the morning to water ski. This wouldn't be so crazy if it was actually warm out, but the temperature was 48 degrees that morning. While he was freezing his cheeks off, Carter and I were warm and cozy at Mom and Dad's getting ready for the morning's activity - the Guthrie County Fair parade. Andy, Julie and Katelyn met us there and the kids LOVED it!
Since we have some Michigan and Hawkeye fans in the house, it was back to Mom and Dad's for lunch, football, naps, and a small little shower for Julie and Baby Priestley.
After Wolverine and Hawkeye victories, we headed down to the Guthrie County Fair. Although there were only about 4 rides that Carter and Katelyn were big enough to go on, they had a great time. And...there was even a train ride. Oh yeah, Carter was in heaven. After the rides, we walked through the animal barns. Carter's favorite animal was definitely the goat!
We ended up spending Saturday night at my parents' house again, and then drove home on Sunday morning. Sunday was our lazy day. I put out some fall decorations, Cary cleaned the garage, we all took naps, and then we went to Bobbi and Joe's for pizza and play-time with Joey and Maddox. (I never think to take pictures of us all lounging around the house...but I should!) The kids had a ball playing with swords and running around the house.
On Monday, we decided to head to the Blank Park Zoo to spend some family time together and enjoy the beautiful 70 degree weather. One of the first things on the agenda: riding the train.
And now it's Monday night and some storms are rolling in. Our plans for the evening include playing with trains, a little TV, and some grilled burgers. What a great way to end the weekend!
