Carter's Social Life

I haven't blogged in awhile and it seems like things have been pretty uneventful with us these past few weeks. Except, of course, for one very exciting new development in our life...my brother and sister-in-law are expecting their second child! We're soooo excited for them and can't wait to meet Baby Priestley in October! Katelyn is going to be such a great big sister and she has informed us that once the baby gets here, she's going to be the boss. Too cute!
This past weekend, Carter was quite the social butterfly. On Friday, we went back to our old stomping grounds, Indianola, for dinner at Pete's Pizza with the Murphy's, Donnenwerth's, and Lauren. It was great to see everyone since we hadn't gotten together in over a month. Carter loved seeing his buddies, Riley and Macy, and also loved playing arcade games with his daddy.
On Saturday, Cary, Carter and I went to my brother's house to let the kids play in the snow and make a snow man. It was a great idea, but it ended up being Cary, Julie and I making the snowman while the kids just walked around in the snow. We were outside no longer than 15 minutes and it started raining. At least we got a good picture of the kids in the snow.
Saturday night, our friends Matt and Angie came over with their son Henry. We just had dinner at our place and chatted while the boys played. Henry and Carter were great together! They would sit together and read, or sit at the table and giggle at each other, or play with cars together. We were just so happy with how well the boys enjoyed each other. Here's a picture of the boys in their jammies. Henry is in Hawkeye gear and Carter in Michigan, of course.
Sunday was a lazy day. We went to church, made breakfast at home, and then all three took naps. We had dinner at Cary's parents' and watched Joey, Maddox and Carter play. And before we knew it, we were preparing for another work week. Boy do the days fly by! 5 days until Florida!!! We can't wait!
