On Sunday, we went to the 8:00 service at Sacred Heart with Cary's parents and then made our way to Guthrie. As soon as we were all there, Carter and Katelyn hunted Easter eggs in the front yard. Then we were in for a surprise - a bunny in a red Corvette came pulling into the driveway!!! Katelyn was so excited and Carter was very timid and unsure. Carter mostly hid behind Cary and said "Bye, Bunny!" He's not so subtle with his hints.

After lunch and playing inside, we took the kids outside to play. The highlights included many rides in the wagon (pulled by Dad's lawn mower) and lots of time playing with their brand new kites. Boy, were the kites a hit!!!

After leaving my parents, Cary and I had all intentions of visiting his family's Easter celebration at his parents' house. But when we finally got back into Des Moines, all three of us were ready for some Sunday afternoon naps and the Coppola party was winding down. We'll have to do our Coppola Easter egg hunt another day! If the amount of Easter candy in our house measures the success of a weekend, I'd say that ours was beyond successful. Reeses' peanut butter cups and Milky Way eggs, here I come!
