Boy, did we celebrate Easter this year! It was a jam-packed weekend with lots of family, candy, Easter egg hunts, bunnies, and photos!
We went to Guthrie on Friday night to hang out with my parents. They took us to Prime Time for dinner and then we just sat around and watched the kids. Carter, of course, played with the black train while Brynn entertained us with her new vocal sounds! Then Saturday morning (which started very early yet again!), Andy, Julie, Katelyn and Claire came and we did the typical Easter stuff...hunted for eggs, opened Easter baskets, and drove the Jeep. :)
After lunch we went to the city-wide Easter Egg hunt. Carter and Katelyn were in two different age groups, which kinda stunk. But they both had a good time. Brynn slept through the whole thing and missed out on all the fun.
After a quick nap for Carter, we hit the road and made our way to Party #2 - Bennett's second birthday celebration at Triad Gymnastics in Ankeny. It was a really fun place and we had the whole thing to ourselves! The boys were each into their own thing - Davis loved the sponge pit, Bennett loved running around, Maddox had no fear jumping into the pit (and making awesome faces), Carter loved the three-person swing, and Joey did it all. Brynn even got in on the action by lying on a big air matress and smiling at herself in the mirror. We had cake and ice cream first, and then got a quick bite of pizza at Mama Lacona's. Yes - all 14 of us. And the kids did pretty well at the restaurant too. Yay for us with our huge table and worn-out kids!
We were so tired when we got home. Both kids were in bed before 8:00 and Cary and I only lasted until 9:30. In the morning, Carter was so excited that the Easter bunny had visited our house too! So he hunted jelly beans and Easter eggs throughout our house. He also found his Easter basket filled with outdoor stuff - a water gun, 3D sidewalk chalk, bubbles - two trains and some candy. Brynn's basket had some summer essentials - sunglasses, silver sandals, and a pink ruffled skirt. :)
We went to the 9:30 church service at Sacred Heart which was PACKED. So packed that we had to sit in a completely different room...and we even got there 10 minutes early! After church we went to Cary's parents' house for the Coppola Easter. The house was so full with more than 50 people, a ton of food, and about 15 desserts. The Easter bunny (aka Kyle) showed up with treats for all of the kids. What a hit! Look at all of these cute Coppola kids! :) After a few hours there, we came home for naps (all of us!) and spent the evening outside and at the park. Yet another fun weekend. And I'm tired!
