Carter and Brynn

Carter...
-still loves trains.  He says that he's "a train guy."
-likes to watch Chuggington, Dinosaur Train, and Phineas and Ferb.
-takes a long afternoon nap every day, but does okay if he skips a nap too.
-takes showers, not baths.  He hates baths.
-knows all of his letters and letter sounds, can count to 20, and can count to 10 in Spanish (thanks, Hedy).
-says his girlfriend is Cassie (our 10 year old neighbor across the street).
-plays well by himself (usually trains) and likes to help me in the kitchen.
-never wants to play by himself when Dad is home! :) Daddy is his #1 playmate.
-doesn't like time-out and usually stops being naughty by the time I count 1...2...
-is not a good eater.  Well, he is great at eating candy and sweets...not so good at eating real food.
-likes to drink out of a big cup, but usually drinks from a sippy.
-wants 2 books and 2 made-up stories at bed-time.  He sleeps with his ninee (blankie), blanket, polar bear, teddy bear, Woody from Toy Story, a couple trains, 2 train books, his broken light-up penguin, and a prayer stick.  :)
-loves his sister.  Like seriously loves her...wipes spit up from her, gives her his trains, wants to wake her up each morning, likes to talk to her, and loves making her smile.  I only hope they always love each other this much.
-still isn't very coordinated.  Not at all really.
-doesn't know how to write letters yet and says that he isn't good at coloring.  :(
-likes going to Hedy's and loves playing with his friends there.
-is a negotiator.  He always says "I've got an idea..."
-feeds Maddie every day and likes to fill her water bowl.
-loves playing outside, helping Daddy in the yard, and going to the park.
-talks all of the time.  Seriously.  All. The. Time.
-is a sweet, kind, loving, quirky kid...and I think he's pretty great.  Although I may be biased. :)

Brynn...
-rolls over both ways and is so proud of herself when she lifts up her upper body.
-smiles whenever someone talks to her...she loves attention.
-cries when she hears her dad come home from work and he doesn't immediately hold her.
-naps best in the swing.
-sleeps through the night 90% of the time.
-eats 4 - 6 oz. of formula every 3 hours.
-has just started solid foods.  So far she's had rice cereal and peas (and a little bit of banana).
-wakes up on her tummy most mornings.
-is crabby when she's tired.
-doesn't like when we make her cry it out.
-loves being naked or just in a diaper.  If she's crabby, we take her clothes off and she's immediately happy.
-LOVES Carter and smiles and squeals at him whenever he talks to her.
-doesn't like her vibrating seat much anymore.  She's onto bigger and better things now - like the jumper and bumbo.
-can't sit up on her own yet, but is close.
-doesn't have any teeth yet, but is very drooly, loves to chew on things, and has been a little fussy today...could that mean one is coming through?
-still takes an antibiotic every single day to prevent UTI's due to her kidney reflux.  She doesn't seem to mind it.
-isn't afraid of strangers yet.
-loves to be held, talked to and sung to.
-looks a lot like Carter but has pretty blue eyes.
-still spits up quite a bit.  What's the deal with us having spitty babies?
-is in the 50% for height and weight.
-is a smiley, drooly, content little girl.  I can't believe she's almost 6 months!!!  Where has the time gone?
