Easter Weekend

Although the weather wasn't quite as nice as it had been before, we were able to enjoy the outdoors during Easter weekend.  We started with an egg hunt and Easter baskets at home on Saturday afternoon.

Inside Brynn's Basket: necklaces, bracelets, an Elmo book, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" and sidewalk chalk
Inside Carter's Basket: a new car from Cars 2, some foamy things that you put into water and turn into bugs, a growing grasshopper, Cars 2 bubbles, and markers and a drawing pad
On Sunday morning, we went to the 8:30 service at St. Mark and then headed to my parents' for Easter lunch.  While we were there, we had another egg hunt, ate a great lunch, and watched the kids play.  Charlie, my cousin's son and my parents' neighbor, came down to play too.  It was a nice and relaxed afternoon.

And since the kids were all dressed up, we took time for a quick photo shoot. Finally, at least one frame-worthy photo of these two!

Unfortunately, things went downhill when we got home that afternoon.  Carter had been coughing a bit and had had some cold symptoms for several days.  Since Brynn had had an ear infection earlier that week, we just thought he must have caught the same little bug and that it would just pass quickly.  But the minute we walked in the door on Sunday, Carter crashed on the couch.  His cheeks were bright red, he had a fever of 102 and he hardly moved.  Assuming it was just a virus, we let it go for a couple of days.  But when his fever was still hanging around on Tuesday, Cary took him to the doctor.  Poor little guy had pneumonia.  Luckily, he was acting normal after just two doses of his antibiotic.  I think we must have caught it early.  Cary and I both did end up catching a virus too - although I think we're all finally on the mend.  Hopefully we'll all be 100% by the weekend.

Hope you all had a great Easter!
