Spring Break 2013

Our Spring Break isn't quite over yet, but we've had a great week so far.  The fun started last Friday with a trip to Decorah.  We were only there about 36 hours but we had a great time.  We...
-Snuggled Miss Nina...who's already almost 6 months old!
-Watched Davis play basketball
-Went sledding in their front yard
-Made a quick trip to the local boutique
-Played some UNO
-Cary and Tony played a little basketball at Luther
-Tried out the new BBQ joint in town
-Had a dance party in their living room
-And enjoyed every minute with their family.

It's always so fun and relaxing to spend a weekend in Decorah.  We just wish we were able to stay a little longer.

We got up Sunday morning and drove to Minneapolis to meet up with the Murphy's and Donnenwerth's for part two of our spring break.  It seemed like forever since we'd all been together and so, as always, it was so much fun to spend a couple of days with them.

We met at the Mall of America and had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe.  It was funny to think that our group of 6 adults had now turned into a "table for 13."  The kids loved seeing all of the attractions at the mall and riding the rides.  Thanks to the guys, us moms were able to sneak away for an hour to do a little shopping.  By mid-afternoon everyone was worn out and we were finally able to check into our hotel room at the water park.  Ironically, Tony and Kelly's family was there meeting their Des Moines friends too, so they were in the room right across from us.  The kids all loved the waterpark.  Carter's favorite part was definitely the tunnel slides.  Brynn liked the toddler slide and the hot-tub.  After some hours in the water, we had pizza and watched the kids run around.  Then it was a night-cap for everyone in our hotel room and then off to bed.

We woke up Monday morning to a snowstorm in Minneapolis, so we decided to stay one extra day.  We did a little more swimming in the morning and then went our separate ways.  After a big family nap, we went back to the mall for lunch and some shopping, ran into Tony and Kelly's family at the mall AGAIN :), let the kids ride a few more rides, and then met the Murphy's back at the waterpark for a little more fun in the water.

It was such a great weekend with some of the best people.  We're so blessed to have these two families as our lifelong friends.  We're hoping to make this a yearly getaway and our kids are already asking to go back.  :)

Good luck with all of the kids, guys! :)

Brynn took off her swimsuit in the middle of the water park TWICE. No idea why. We know she'll love this story when she'll older.

Spring Break's not over yet...more to come! :)
