April in Review

Here's what the Coppola's have been up to this April:

• Tee-Ball:  Carter has had 3 practices and one game so far.  Since this is his first organized sport experience, we weren't quite sure what to expect out of him.  During his game, he played outfield and did okay.  Mostly he looked around, jumped up and down, waved at me in the stands, picked up his hat when it fell off, and smiled a ton.  He definitely could use some work in paying attention and running after the ball, but he didn't look much different than any of the other 5-year-olds out there.  And when he was up to bat, he always had a good hit.  Coach Cary did a great job at his first coaching experience too.  :)
• Selling Our House: We have been talking about moving for quite a while and finally put our house on the market last week.  We've had lots of people take flyers from the yard and visit our website.  We've also shown the house and got really great feedback.  Now our fingers are crossed that it will sell quickly and without having to list it with a realtor.  Where we are moving to has been quite the story and after letting the idea sink in for a week or two, I am really excited about it!!  We actually have decided to buy Cary's parents' house and remodel it.  They had been planning to move to a smaller home and were just about to put their for-sale sign in the yard when this crazy idea came up.  We've had a builder look at it and we're so excited to get started with some rennovations as soon as our home sells.  We're planning to update the kitchen with new white cabinets and a large island, new paint, flooring and lighting throughout the first floor, update the master bathroom, new doors and windows, an added drop-area in the back entrance, and a modern redesign of the fireplace.  At this point, I'm most excited about the new kitchen, but I've also been thinking about the kids' rooms and how I want to dedcorate them.  The location and neighborhood is great too and we're really ready to get the ball rolling.  I can picture myself sitting on their back deck, sipping lemonade already. :)
• Maddie: Maddie had been a part of our family for 8 years.  She was a great puppy and naughty dog and we're both sad, yet a bit relieved, that she's at a new home.  It was hard to make the decision but it just needed to be done.  We couldn't take the constant peeing in our house, taking food out of the kids' hands, wandering the neighborhood, etc.  It gives both Cary and I a huge pit in our stomachs to think of her feeling so lost without us, but we're hopeful that she'll be happy with her new family.  She will forever be a part of our lives and she'll always be the kids' dog. 
• The Kids:  They're so old.  Brynn just seems like such a big girl.  She looks old and she acts old too.  She's such a little firecracker, but really in a fun way.  Her naughtiness only comes out when she's really tired.  Otherwise, she's so sweet and loving and fun.  She likes to be a helper in the kitchen and in the yard and with laundry.  She still loves her babies and is so nice to all of the little ones she's around.  She's a good sleeper and great errand-runner and good friend.  Carter is really into Angry Birds and the iPad right now.  He's also becoming quite the artist.  He sits at the kitchen table and draws all of the time and his artwork is really great.  He loves school and loves his friends, but also still really likes to play by himself at home.  He now uses words like "official" and "exclusive" and makes us laugh constantly.  His sweetness with his sister is there most of the time, but this weekend the two of them really started bickering with each other.  I'm hoping this passes before summer!
