Thanksgiving Weekend

One of the best parts of living in West Des Moines is that we can make it to most of our family's events in a weekend.  It can be a lot of driving, but it's always worth it!  We started our weekend on Thursday morning as we made our way to Mt. Ayr to see Cary's grandma.  It was such a beautiful day so we were able to spend some much-needed time outside...throwing around the football, hitting golf balls, driving the golf cart, and playing with the dog.  Grandma Taylor had all of the traditional Thanksgiving foods and we were STUFFED when we left.  Such a fun, laid-back afternoon at the farm.

After spending the afternoon at Grandma Taylor's, we drove to Guthrie to spend time with my family.  Unfortunately, both the Sorensen's and Priestley's had celebrated Thanksgiving at noon too, so we had to miss both of those.  But we were able to see Great-Grandpa Milo and Great-Grandma Betty.  Two attempts at a photo....

We spent all day Friday at my parents' house.  We watched football, the boys went on a jeep ride, and we played in the basement.  My brothers' family was there too so the kids had fun spending time together.  Carter and Katelyn played so well together! Mom and Dad made turkey and a ton of sides and so we were stuffed, yet again.  Wonder how many pounds we gained in those two days?

We drove home Friday night and then just hung out at home on Saturday.  Brynn and I did a little shopping while Cary watched the Michigan game (are you sensing a trend of our Saturdays??).  :)  Then we celebrated the Coppola Christmas - yes Christmas! - on Saturday night.  It was early, but Bobbi and Joe did a good job getting everyone into the Christmas spirit.  Their tree and lights were up, Christmas Vacation was playing in the background, and all of the stockings had been stuffed.  Santa was great to everyone was this year.  Carter got a new Geotracks set that he hasn't stopped playing with.  You should see our basement with now 3 train sets.  Brynn got a talking doll and rocking baby crib.

The weekend wasn't even over then!  We celebrated Davis's 5th birthday at the Bass Pro Shop bowling alley on Sunday.  And now we're putting up our tree and getting ready for the week ahead.  Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! :)
