Happy Birthday Brynn and Cary!

Last Thursday our sweet little girl turned one.  It's hard to believe that an entire year has passed and we now have a fun, active and sweet-tempered girl.  She's learning to walk and is getting braver about it every day.  And she's just starting to say a few words: Mama, Dada, and dog.  She loves her baby dolls and also just loves playing with Carter.  And her most recent trick is blowing kisses.  She's just so much fun to play with and Cary and I are both really enjoying her right now.

Since Brynn's actual party is this weekend, we just celebrated as a family of four on Thursday night.  During the day, I took the kids to the mall play place and we met Alicia for lunch.  She brought both kids balloons and made us carry them through the mall.  So sweet!  That evening once Cary got home, we opened presents, ate cupcakes and just played all evening long.  Happy Birthday, Brynn Marie!!!  This first year has been so much fun, I can only imagine what year #2 will bring! :)

November is full of birthdays for us. Next week Cary turns the big 3-0! Rather than a party, he asked for tickets to the Iowa vs. Michigan football game and a weekend with his brothers. Of course none of us wanted to disappoint....so we spent last Friday night and Saturday in Iowa City. On Friday, we went to Sam's Pizza for dinner and drinks. All three of his brothers, their wives and girlfriend, and two of his very best friends joined us. It was such a fun night!

We woke up bright and early on Saturday morning to start tailgating for the game.  Some of our family friends have a house right near campus, so we spent the morning there.  Unfortunately, the place was full of Iowa fans.  :)
