Carter's Christmas Program

This morning was Carter's Christmas program at preschool.  He had missed school the past two days due to an ear infection and fever.  The cough and runny nose are still going, but he was fever-free and ready to get back to school.  Unfortunately, he was supposed to celebrate his birthday with his classmates on Monday, so we ended up with a dozen cupcakes sitting in our fridge this week...which of course, I have continued to eat...

The program was short and sweet.  Carter didn't really participate as much as I think he would have if he'd been feeling better.  He stood where he was supposed to (even when several other boys kept pinching his cheeks and pestering him).  He sang some of the words to every song.  He smiled at us.  He was the second one to run up to Santa and he continued to talk to Santa even as Santa was trying to leave the classroom.  :)  And he ate two cookies afterwards.  His teacher told me that he had usually been one of the "more involved" singers in past weeks, so he obviously wasn't his normal self today.  That's okay...it was cute anyway!!!
