After opening presents at home, we packed up the car and headed west. Our first stop was in Waukee at Cary's aunt Bobbye's house. To say that this house is overflowing with people, presents and food is an understatement. You literally walk in the door, find a place to plant yourself for the day, and try not to move as much as possible. We stayed there just for a couple of hours. Long enough to open some presents and eat really quick. Then we loaded up again and made our way to my parents' house.
We got to Mom and Dad's in the early afternoon and just relaxed. I helped Mom finish up in the kitchen, we put the kids down for naps, and then we just relaxed and chatted. After Andy, Julie and the girls showed up, we had dinner, and then opened presents. Brynn was an absolute disaster all evening. Her cold was coming back, she was coughing constantly, and her nose would not stop running. She really cried most of the evening, so I was happy to put her to bed a little early! :) Carter and Katelyn stayed up and played with some of their new toys. And after all of the kids were in bed, the rest of us watched a movie (and some of us fell asleep). It was a great night and we all got such nice gifts!
