We didn't have much planned for Christmas Eve this year, so it was nice to relax a bit, take naps, and then go to mass at 6:00 Sacred Heart as a family. Afterwards, we went to Christmas Eve dinner at Aunt Joy's house. This is one of my favorite Coppola gatherings. The food is always so good (white chicken manicotti, stuffed pasta shells, mandarin orange cake, cranberry bars with rum sauce, squash and cilantro salad, and holiday cocktails.) The house is dimly lit with Christmas lights and candles. Everyone is dressed up and happy and enjoying the holiday. Unfortunately, the elves had some assembly to do that night, so we didn't stay too long. We came home, put the kids to bed, and got to work while watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. By midnight, we were tired, crabby, and ready for bed, but everything was set to go for the morning.

Christmas morning was great! The kids found their stockings filled and a play kitchen with all of the accessories from Santa. Cary and I had some fun things in our stockings too! After opening presents from each other, we had breakfast (which I had put in the crockpot the night before...definitely doing that again!), drank coffee, and played with all of our new things.
Top presents included:
Carter: many Cars 2 characters, a baseball glove and baseball, an airplane that carries matchbox cars
Brynn: a barking puppy, bouncy turtle and baby doll
Ali: new shirts, a purse, and a necklace (which Carter picked out and I absolutely love!)
Cary: a new watch, shirts, and a game to play with Carter
It was such a fun and relaxing morning and I think we all loved every minute of it!
