Christmas #5 - Priestley's

Our original Christmas Eve plans came to a screetching hault as the winter storm approached. So instead of spending Christmas Eve night with my parents and Andy and Julie, we ended up celebrating it that morning and afternoon. We mostly just hung around the house and watched Katelyn and Carter chase each other around all morning. Then about 11:00 we opened presents. Katelyn got lots of cool things - including a guitar!
Carter got a GeoTrax train set, which he LOVES! He wouldn't even take a nap that day because he layed in his bed talking about his train track. Mom and Dad also gave him a table and chairs set, some books, and some clothes. Andy and Julie gave him another part of his train set and some clothes and a personalized Cars book. I got lots of clothes, perfume and a cool basket of cooking stuff - cook book, recipe cards, wine, winter pasta, marinara sauce, etc. And Cary got a new Bluray player, some tools and a Michigan sleeve for his iPhone. We all were so spoiled!!! After all of the presents were opened, we had a big lunch of ham, cheesy potatoes, salad, and green bean casserole. We topped it all off with mom's homemade chocolate cake - a birthday cake for Baby Jesus! Carter blew out the candles since he was practicing for his birthday in just a few days! One favorite moment of the day was when Carter and Katelyn took a bath together and Carter peed in the tub. So funny. Andy whipped Kate out of the tub faster than you could say "oh no!" And then at lunch, Kate wanted to say the prayer. She thanked God for her mommy, daddy and Carter, and then looked up at me and said "And you too, Ali." Melts my heart.

We ended up leaving shortly after lunch because the weather was only getting worse. Luckily, we made it home safely and were able to play with Carter and his new trainset on Christmas Eve.
