So today was my first official day of Christmas break and we started it off with a bang! My good friend Amy and her daughter Macy came over to play. It was actually us adults that were doing most of the playing...with scrapbook paper, wooden letters, Mod Podge, and acrylic paint. Our plan was to make hostess gifts for our friends and family members that were hosting various Christmas celebrations.
We started with this stuff...total cost for 15 letters = $10
Then we painted the back of each letter black. Of course, we did accidentally paint the front of a few of them, but what is craft day without a minor crisis?
Then we cut a piece of scrapbook paper to fit the letters. 9 sheets of scrapbook paper = $3
Next, we traced our letters onto the back of the scrapbook paper and cut them out. We then used Mod Podge and a foam brush to adhere the scrapbook paper to the letters. Once dry, we attached pretty ribbons to each letter. Cost for 3 spools of ribbon = $8
And while we worked, the kids played, had snacks, painted with water colors, and watched a movie. Having kids old enough to play by themselves = Priceless!!!
